Grobots: Emotional Development Toy for Children (undergraduate)
Grobots is an interactive learning toy for children ages 2-7. The child controls a set of three animated robots designed to develop emotional intelligence through responsive play. Aggressive behaviour will frighten the bots away, whereas leadership and friendly behaviour will encourage the bots to play memory and activity games. The bots learn as the child grows and the games and activities become more challenging. Throughout this interaction, the child learns confidence and develops emotional intelligence, while establishing an bond with the product.
Design Intent: To provide an adaptive learning environment for children ages 2-7, bridge the product opportunity gap between digital products and tactile products, leverage technology to educate children innovatively and creatively, activate multiple intelligences, and provide children an intrinsic method of learning emotional intelligence
