Rural Lettercarrier Appliances

In rural and remote regions, mail carriers are often required to use their own personal vehicles to deliver mail over long distances. A custom solution was required to enable the carriers to deliver the mail safely and efficiently.

Design Challenge:

Develop an appliance which can be temporarily installed in the passenger seat of a wide variety of consumer vehicles quickly and securely. The appliance must not present any safety hazard to the driver during regular operation, nor in a collision scenario. The appliance must interface with existing mail delivery solutions such as reaching devices and mail delivery containers (LFTs.)
